Title: The 6th Annual Tour de Scottsdale
Location: Market Street at DC Ranch
Description: The 6th Annual Tour de Scottsdale, hosted by the DC Ranch Community Foundation in partnership with DCB Adventures, begins and ends on Market Street on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009. The route travels through north Scottsdale and is a challenging course with scenic vistas that has earned popularity among cycling enthusiasts. Cyclists from across the country, enjoy the 70-mile tour around the McDowell mountains beginning at 7 a.m.
A 2.5-mile Family Fun Ride, beginning at 9 a.m., allows cyclists of all ages and skill levels to take part in the event.
The Tour Expo, a post-ride celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Market Street at DC Ranch. The Tour Expo features music, food and beverage, and merchandise. An awards ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with prizes presented to the top three overall male and female cyclists and other unique awards for every cyclists who finishes the course.
Proceeds benefit McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, a non-profit organization committed to preserving the McDowell Mountains and Sonoran desert.
